Summary

Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Joey Porter Jr. and Cory Trice Jr. as their new cornerbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft. Now during OTAs, they're turning heads for how they've been fitting in at practice. Porter and Trice as rookies are said to have been understanding and fitting into the Steelers' defensive schemes very well by Patrick Peterson, the Steelers' oldest cornerback in the room and a future Hall of Fame cornerback. Is the hype around the rookies for real? Maybe. But there's a factor that simply getting the defensive concepts within their understanding could be unlocked. Also, there's the potential for a weakness in the Steelers secondary, and it could be potential matchups with playmaker tight ends. The absence of Terrell Edmunds wasn't filled with safeties who are particularly known for shutting down that position. 1:32.9	But if both are able to develop into starting cornerbacks for the Steelers,
1:36.5	it gives them two six-foot-three physical guys on the outside who could be there for the long-term

1:46.1	the Steelers moving forward. But the question is, how are they going in? And we know OTAs aren't
1:50.3	everything. It's still just football in shorts and, you know, they're not fully doing everything.
