But before Art Rooney speaks, I wanted to talk to Nick because Mike McCarthy talked more

today.

Nick, there's been a lot of wondering and thinking between minds like you and myself about how this Steelers secondary is going to align. Where's Jalen Ramsey going to fit it? Is Jaquan Brissker a free safety, a strong safety? DeShon Elliott coming back. Joey Porter, do they draft a cornerback? Oh, they went and got to Mel Dean. Are they going to go slot cornerback in the draft? Pre safety in the draft. What was the read that you got from talking to Mike McCarthy? Because I believe it was you to ask him about the secondary and how some of those guys are going to get used. Yeah, I did. And he basically said, listen, position flexibility is king. And I think they really to have, you know, he mentioned DeQuam Bricker playing multiple positions, but didn't mention Deshaun Elliott doing that to me. That says Deshaun Elliott's going to be the box guy like he always has been. Brisker is going to be the guy when they're both at safety. I think that plays the single high and when they need someone to do it. I also think you could put Bristker at dimebacker, though, and that's something he mentioned is, you know could go to dimebacker and could do different things the other thing is you know i kind of and i i mentioned you know brisker and ramsie to him specifically because i think brisker obviously affects what jalen ramsie is going to do and where he's going to play and he said one of the big first conversations he had with Jalen Ramsey was, hey, man, we're going to play you at safety. We're going to play you at nickel. We're going to play. And he said, one of the big first conversations he had with Jalen Ramsey was,

hey, man, we're going to play you at safety, we're going to play you at nickel, we're going to

play you at dime, where you might even have you hop out to outside corner if we think the matchup depends upon it. He's going to be to me, Jailen Ramsey is going to be this matchup super weapon that they kind of look at and just say,

wherever we need you,

wherever we think you fit best on the field in this matchup,

we're going to put you.

And so to me,

it kind of is interesting because I think Jalen Ramsey is the type of guy that one, we could be playing free safety, the next week could be playing slot for her, the next week could be playing dimebacker, you know, he's going to have these specialized kind of roles. And so I think the flexibility component is so important.
