The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their second preseason game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but there

was plenty to learn from, including lots of positives from the younger players.

Follow me on all my social media at Carter Critiques. But I want to dive into this game a little bit more. I gave my minute reaction after the game, but I wanted to talk about the things that we saw. And I'm going to break it down. This is going to be a bonus episode. We're going to do this in two segments instead of the normal three. We'll save the three for Monday when we're back in full.

But I was impressed by a few things, but also like, you know, the concerns that no will come with the preseason game. Now, of course, losing a preseason game, nobody cares. Just like winning a preseason game last week, nobody cares. But the encouraging things to pull out these are things are always interesting to look at how serious are they, what progress did we see. And I did see actual progress from Derek Harmon. And I thought this was a really good sign for me. One thing when I went back and I looked at the tape from Derek Harmon from week one, he didn't get on the stat sheet. But I didn't think he had a terrible game. He just didn't have a good game per se because he didn't get on the stat sheet. There was one pressure that he got that I thought was actually kind of good. It led to an early pass, which ended up being an interception. But that was waived off because Isaiah Loudermick was called for roughing the passer. That was against the Jaguars. That was really the biggest play that I thought that I I saw some positivity out of him in that game and

You know when Andy Wighto we asked Andy Wido the Steelers this at GM who talked to us Thursday before the joint practice

He kind of noted like hey he was getting pressure we're fine with where he is we're gonna see him grow and that's and that's gonna come with time and there was a bit of faith there and I'd say that their faith was somewhat rewarded, or at least, you know, shown why they have it in this, in this game.

Derek, Derek Harmon comes out of this game with his first sack of the preseason. He also had

three tackles on the night. But I was truly impressed by Derek Harmon because of how he was

able to do some of the things I didn't

see him do in the first game and that was the consistent use of his hands. Derek Harmon is a big player. He's got long arms. He's got the perfect body. He's very much like Cam Hayward in the respect. And this is why when we talked to about the combine, he said he likes Cam Hayward and Chris Jones because they are his body types.

But when I looked at him and I said, hey, if this guy can use his hands early and get it and use quick hands to get into the chest, the inside frame of offensive linemen, he can be a problem.

And he was a problem in this game.
