Summary

Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers have some tough decisions to make this offseason, but cornerback shouldn't be one of them. Cameron Sutton's contributions to the secondary make him an offseason priority that Omar Khan and Mike Tomlin need to find a way to pay and fit him into the team's salary cap. That can be done by re-working or cutting the contracts of other veterans currently on the roster, like William Jackson III and Ahkello Witherspoon. But once that's done, the Steelers should use a high draft pick on a cornerback like Christian Gonzalez, Joey Porter Jr., or Devin Witherspoon. Also, cornerback grades from the 2022 season with some interesting marks for Levi Wallace that show another aspect the Steelers should plan around for the future. Finally, Chris Carter's reaction to the divisional round of the playoffs with the Cincinnati Bengals looking to play the Kansas City Chiefs, and the San Francisco 49ers about to play the Philadelphia Eagles, and how those teams being the final four of the NFL relates to the Steelers.
