As you can see, Steelers fans, I'm still here in La Trobe. It was a day five for Steelers training camp, but unfortunately, no fully padded practice where the hits were out there to be seen because a storm hit.

0:58.7

And that moved the Steelers inside into the. no fully padded practice where the hits were out there to be seen because a storm hit.

1:12.5

And that moved the Steelers inside into the St. Vincent Gym area where they basically kind of did their own walkthroughs and other things that they wanted to work on.

1:20.8

They'll be back at doing the hopefully doing their first fully padded practice today, Wednesday, if the, if the weather permits. And it's kind of rare. I saw some people going online, like, oh, how could they do this? How could they not look at the weather? I checked my weather. And a lot of us in the media checked our weather beforehand. We're like, oh, it looks like it'll be cloudy, but it looks like it'll be a really nice day. Yeah, it just didn't happen that way. Sometimes that happens. It's the first time I was talking to Ray Fittapado from the Post Gazette, my colleague there. And he told me, like, this is like the first time in a decade. They had to go back there. So not that often. But I wanted to take this time since we didn't get to see fully pad at practice. Talk about who the players are that who need to step up the most because I think there's some players it's less about what we've seen in training camp and it's more about what we've seen about them and what we need to see for them if they want to to set themselves up for the future and there's some obvious ones out there so I'll go with the obvious ones and the first one I think is a guy who's supposed to be back at training camp tomorrow is Broderick Jones. Broderick, of course, the first round pick of 23, Omar Khan's first first round pick, first draft pick, since he took over as general manager. He's had two years as a starter, really one and a half with the Steelers. But in that, he hasn't looked all that impressive. He's had great moments, but he's also had bad moments. It's kind of in the balanced in that he hasn't looked all that impressive he's had great

2:34.5

moments but he's also had bad moments it's kind of in the balanced factory hasn't turned into that first round superstar offensive tackle the Steelers have been hoping for but there's also the acknowledgement that he's also still the youngest starting offensive lineman on the team despite three players getting drafted uh to play offensive line last year he's younger than all of them. It was kind of known that he was going to be a bit of a project that's going to take time.

2:34.4

Um, and, uh, getting drafted to play offensive line last year. He's younger than all of them. It was kind of knowing that he was going to be a bit of a project that's going to take time. And we know that he got

2:55.7

hurt last week. He didn't get to practice in the last the last practice of last week on Sunday.

3:02.5

And then he did not practice and he was not set to practice today Tuesday or yesterday. I'm

3:07.3

recording this today. So he did not practice on Tuesday. But I did ask Mike Tomlin directly about Broderick Jones's timeline. He said he expects him to be back today. That's huge because I think Broderick Jones has a lot to show right now. And this is a person who believes in Broderick Jones. I've seen like his prototype prototype build. I've seen when he does lock in and he does get it.

3:26.1

He has the skill set, the athleticism to be a problem. But he has to put in the coordination. He has to develop that as a player. His hand-eye coordination has to be sharper. He has to be able to get his hands on guys at the right angles. those are the things that he needs to work on right now.

3:22.5

He has come into camp.
