During today’s conversation on Backporch Theology we’re going to talk about the immutable – which is a fifty-dollar word that simply means “unchanging” – love of Jesus Christ. How He really is the friend who sticks closer than a brother. And not only is His devotion to us immutable – it doesn’t wax and wane like the moon or ebb and flow like ocean waves or shrink and swell like my feet on a long flight - it’s not based on our deservedness, either. Thankfully, Karma and divine compassion aren’t remotely related! My platonic theological crush, C.S. 1:49.2	scout. And I can still remember the first time he said, you can do it yourself. And it was a
1:54.8	stick shift international scout. And I ran smack over a barbed wire fence. Yeah, yeah. So that's
2:04.2	probably about where we are podcast speaking. I don't know that we deserve the microphones yet.
2:10.1	We're going to run over a fence today. We're going to wreck into something. But I love where we're
2:15.4	going today. We're talking about really the immutability of of Jesus affection for us.
2:23.2	How his love for us doesn't wax away. And he really is the friend that sticks closer than a brother.
