Hey everyone, it's Brian Underwood. I wanted to do a quick brain dump here and share just a thought

I had with you guys. Number one, just to get it out of my body. A lot of times I do this where I want to

speak to other people about something that's on my mind because it's a way that I anchor a thought

into my body and I also get perspective or I learn a lesson out of it.

And one of the things that's just been, I've been reflecting on a lot is focus and how rare focus is today for obvious reasons, right?

There's more people competing for your attention than ever before as a consumer and or as

a entrepreneur, right?

There's a million ways to make a million dollars.

There's opportunities all around us.

And one of the things I can tell you is that the people that are able to achieve a high

level of success at any industry with anything they have the innate ability or if you want

to say the unique ability today to become distracted with their obsession or if you just want to say

they can stay focused right on their activities and they give it time to grow and to execute.

And so I was reflecting just on kind of the whole theory of us making decisions

and committing to the decisions that we make.

And it reminded me of a book that I read that it's called The Boys in the Boat.

You know, they called themselves the MIBs, which I'll explain to you in a minute.

But it tells an amazing story of a group during the Depression era.

They were outsiders, right?

They were national champion University of Washington men's rowing crew.

And they wanted to go for the gold for the United States at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

This is during the Nazi era.
