I want to offer a word based on an Audrey Lourke quote where she said, there is no such

thing as a single issue struggle because we do not live single issue lives.

Now I say that because what I know to be true is that our identities are not mutually

exclusive, but either interdependent or connected.

That I show up as a gay black man.

All of those things exist at the same time.

That race, gender, identity, class are always at play.

So when we have conversations about what justice looks like, what equity, when people get what

they deserve, what they should give, that we have to be mindful that people don't exist

in one sphere, but they exist in the totality of who they are.

And then we have to talk about that, we have to explore that.

And when we think about what a just world looks like, when they go solutions look like,

it has to take those things to account.

This is never about one issue, this is about all the issues.

And that should not overwhelm you, that should empower you because we want all of you

to be free.
