And today we are going to talk about the Statue of Liberty.

So a couple of you have sent this to me on Instagram,

but nobody has directly sent it through my request and episode form.

So I cannot thank you because I lost the messages.

I actually, when you guys message me requests on Instagram, I always send you to that link to the form because I'm notorious for losing requests in my messages on Instagram. I love you guys message me, but I have a

hard time refinding the messages, especially because I get so many of them. So thank you.

have sent this. So we're covering it today. The Statue of Liberty, or Liberty Enlightening the World, stands on Liberty

Island in New York Harbor within New York City. It was designed by Frederick August Bartholdi,

Eugene Emmanuel Valle Ladeau, and Gustav Eiffel. You guys love my pronunciation. I actually, I tried really hard and I practiced that.

So my apologies if I still messed it up.

Gustav Eiffel is known for the Eiffel Tower.

So he worked on the statutoryity before he worked on the Eiffel Tower.

Vile Le D'Dou was responsible for the restoration of Notre Dame and he was Bartholdi's

mentor.

The idea came from a French historian, Edward de Laboulet, was the first to kind of propose this idea.

He was the president of the French anti-slavery society and a prominent political thinker.

There are conflicting stories as to when the statue was first talked about.
