| 0:51.2 | 420 anti-science bills. What qualifies as20 anti-science bills? |
| 0:54.5 | What qualifies as an anti-science bill? |
| 0:57.6 | So we looked at three areas, as you mentioned, vaccines, milk, safety, and fluoride. |
| 1:04.1 | The reason we chose looking at those areas is because they go against scientifically proven |
| 1:10.3 | health measures. Like, for example, experts say that |
| 1:13.7 | global vaccine efforts have saved more than 150 million lives since the mid-70s. Cavities have |
| 1:20.2 | declined dramatically since fluoridation began, and milk pasteuriation has saved millions from |
| 1:26.9 | foodborne illness. |
| 1:28.0 | So that's why we chose those to look at. |
| 1:30.5 | Can you give me an example of what these bills looked like? |
| 1:33.9 | The vast majority actually were anti-vaccine bills. |
| 1:37.7 | And we had certain methodology that we used to determine what we met by that. So, for example, |
| 1:45.6 | bills that made it easier to get vaccine exemption or placed additional regulatory burdens or |
