Welcome to the Barnyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Monday edition of the yard. A little bit later recording that I wanted to be. Had a lot going on. You know how it is. Life on life's terms. Business stuff to do, kid stuff to do. Finally carved out a little time to get this knocked out for you guys. Pretty decent weekend for us. We did kind of

the minimum standard. You know what I'm saying? It's like we knew we had to go three and one last

week. We did. We really wanted to go four and couldn't quite pull that off. Actually got some

help around the league too. So, you know, that's the thing that we need to see. You know, we need

to see split series everywhere

unless somebody's playing an Ole Miss

and you always want those guys to sweep.

I mean, that's just, I mean, are we even rivals?

You know what I'm saying?

If we don't see it otherwise.

But we did get some help around the league.

Pretty much got maybe a perfect weekend in many respects

other than we didn't sweep. If we had swept, we could really have kind of picked up some ground

and even surpassing teams. They're right there second in the west. But I mean, goodness, it's just

two weekends in. There's nobody that should be beaten their chest about the standings at this

point. There's still a lot of baseball left to be played. So we're going to break down the weekend. We're going to look ahead to Memphis and take a look around the SEC and kind of see who did what and how that impacts Mississippi State. But again, I was pleased with some things. And then, you know, there's some recurring issues, you know, with the bullpen. I mean,

you know, here we are, you know, it's about to be April 1st and we're still trying to settle

those bullpen roles. That was something we've talked about really since we left Omaha is that

if we move Landon Sims to a starting role and now he's lost for the season. You know, who handles the back end for us?

That is still a work in progress. You've had some guys kind of step up. Of course, Brooks Auger,

I think has done a decent job for us. Brennan Smith's been good at times. Jackson Fristow has

had some good endings and then didn't have a real good weekend. Got the win in the game and, you know,
