Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Roberts. And as always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson. Here on the

0:07.4

magnificent Monday edition of the yard, rough weekend, guys. I mean, in many respects. And here's the thing.

0:14.8

I've had some people say, well, you know, at least we're not getting beat like this. A loss is a loss.

0:19.6

And losing does not work for Mississippi State

0:22.9

baseball. We are currently six games over 500. That's unacceptable. It just is. Absolutely

0:32.5

unacceptable. Let's just call it for what it is, right? It's unacceptable.

0:55.5

It's not acceptable here. That's the truth that it matter. I'm trying to get these levels right. So if I'm a little bit off today, I apologize. But, you know, it's frustrating, like all of you. I mean, the reality of it is, like I have people that reach out after ball know, like Steve, tell us, guys, I don't have any words of wisdom for you that's going to make you feel better about the current state of Mississippi State baseball.

1:17.4

getting a sweep. A couple pitches away from getting a sweep. We end up losing a series. And now

1:23.1

1:29.4

our finances, our interest level, our emotions in Mississippi State College Baseball, and really

1:35.1

athletics as a whole. And then we struggle. You know, you look forward to this all year long, right?

1:42.1

We're going to gather at Dirty Noble Field, we're going to have

1:44.2

these huge crowds, and we're going to cheer our team on to Omaha. And the reality of it is,

1:51.2

is the possibility of doing that was erased really in many respects a long time ago. And so we want

1:59.0

to give everybody the benefit of the doubt, right? You're thinking, okay, okay,

2:02.9

you start doing it. You bargain with yourself, right? Oh, well, there's, if we can win this,

2:07.9

we can do that. And that's just to kind of keep the thin hope alive. And that's where I've been

2:14.0

for the last month. I remember thinking, hey, you know, the schedule eases up for us
