| 0:20.6 | I'm one of your hosts, Kyle Hilliard. I'm joined today by Charles Hart. How's it going, Charles? How do you? How are you? Oh, good question. Eric Van Allen is here. I'm catching you right as you're taking a sip. No, I was blowing on my coffee to cool it so it doesn't burn my tongue today. I'm terrified of burning my tongue live on air. It hasn't happened yet, but it will one day eventually. Oh, I can't wait. I'm to be there. I'm going to be there. And Wesley LeBlok, what's up, Wes? Hello, hello. Excited to be here. Yeah. Hey, today we are diving deep on the state of play, which at the time of this |
| 0:55.5 | recording, I don't know when you're listening to this, but we covered it in a big way last night, |
| 0:59.8 | and we, on Thursday, now Friday morning, first thing we're doing is we are talking about everything |
| 1:04.4 | that happened there. And along with all the announcements, I have also played a little bit of, |
| 1:10.3 | I've already forgotten the name, God of War, Sons of Sparta. I also played a little bit of, I've already forgotten |
| 1:11.8 | the name God of War, Sons of Sparta. |
| 1:14.1 | I've played a little bit of it so we can talk about that too. |
| 1:16.0 | And then after a break, Charles got to play some Pokemon Pocopia. |
| 1:20.8 | West reviewed Reanimal. |
| 1:22.3 | I reviewed Romeo as a dead man and played a bunch of Sinicross. |
| 1:26.4 | It's a whole dang episode of the Game Informer show. And we're going to dive right into it, guys. Let's talk about state of play. I don't know who wants to go first, but like, what did you guys think of it? Like, I thought it was a good show. I thought it was dense. I thought there was a lot of fun stuff. But, yeah, what did you guys think? I thought it was a good show. I thought it was dense. I thought there was a lot of fun stuff. But yeah, what did you guys think? I thought it was the best one. I would need to go back through all of them to say it's the best one. But in recent memory, it's the best one. It was the first one in a long time where I was like, not really any segments that felt this could have been an email |
| 2:01.9 | or a press release. This was like, this felt very eventworthy. I'm actually surprised it was a state |
| 2:07.4 | of play and not a PlayStation showcase, to be honest. I think it could have easily been their more |
| 2:12.1 | hype, exciting thing. But there was less first party representation. That's probably why it was |
| 2:17.1 | a state of play. But yeah, lots of good stuff to chew on in it, exciting thing. But there was less first party representation. That's probably why it was a state of play. But, yeah, lots of good stuff to chew on in it, I think. Yeah, I'd have to think back to like maybe there's, there might have been some E3s that maybe out did it. I'll always remember the Shadow the Colossus remake, kind of like, just like blowing my mind that that thing |
| 2:35.1 | would even exist. But yeah, I, I, it was, there was a lot happening and there was, there was, there was a lot of stuff that I was, was, I was really surprised by, like, opening up with, is it Kenna or Keena? I, I actually only played about now, or Kena. I never played the personal however they said it in the trailer i'm going to play it right now so i can remind myself |
| 2:52.9 | however they said it in the trailer, I'm going to play it right now so I can remind myself. However they said it, I was surprised because I had been saying it a different way. Okay, Charles is doing the research right now. Canana, what's my name? Is that what it is? Yeah, that's... Y'all forgot about that song until now, I guarantee you. You did not remember that song. I still don't know what you're talking about. Forgot about a Rihanna song? Yeah, actually I did because she's forgotten. Not a Rihanna song, but Unana, what's my name specifically? Yeah. But that, I don't know how you guys felt, but that one surprised me in a big way because as cool as that original game was, which I admit, I only played like about an hour of it, but I love the way it looked. My prediction for a long time has been that studio was like, hey, we made Kenna, and then Sony was going to be like, great, we're going to put you on this license. It was kind of my thought. You know, I don't know what that license was. I don't know what it was going to be. But it just didn't occur to me that they would continue that franchise. And the game looks great. It looks really good. |
| 3:50.4 | The first one was like a very PS2 game, right? It was like a very like classic action, character action platformer type game or character action type game, like a jack or a ratchet. |
| 4:03.1 | Yeah. |
