Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Maroon Friday edition of the yard a little bit later than I wanted to be. I got to get back in a habit of doing these things in the morning. I like to have them up by noon when I can. But with all the recruiting stuff going on on baseball and football, sometimes the day gets away

from me.

And there's some guys I wanted to speak to, a couple guys out at the MLB Combine.

I have now interviewed everybody out there that's not a current player, right?

And, of course, if they didn't have time to talk to me, they wouldn't talk to me. But I reached out and said, hey, I'd like to talk to you for a few minutes. It's about the Combine Experience. And so, yeah, so we've had those over at Jeans page.

And again, you don't have to be a member to go read those.

You should be a member.

You should be, because nobody covers Mississippi State as extensively as we do in the history of this university.

And I find myself doing more than more.

And now that I don't have an 80,000 word book on the on the on the

agenda got a lot more time to work on the jeans page stuff and so yeah it's a good time too

it's summertime I'm always looking for something to write about and I'll show you guys

real quickly I had somebody reach out to me and I won't say who because I don't want to embarrass

them. But his mother is up in age and she knew that she had an uncle that was a track star at

Mississippi State much, much older than her. And she didn't have a lot of information and so her

son's like hey you know I know you kind of a bit of a bulldog historian can you

can you help me here and so to the archives and the bad cave we go and I'm able to

find about I don't know a dozen articles

about her uncle and come to find out not only was he a track star for a while there he held

the SEC record it was the SIAA when he was a competitor here held the record and in the high jump. How cool is that? And I can tell you

this, I don't know what it meant to them, but it meant an awful lot to me to be able to help
