Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson as always. I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the hump day edition of the yard. I hope you slept a little bit better last night. I hope you did because a major league baseball draft is over. We're going to talk extensively about that today and also kind of about what's next.

There are a couple of things that I want to say, though, before we kind of get too deep in the jug here

when it comes to the draft.

I have read with great interest some comments on Facebook and social media,

and I'm not going to be argumentative or sarcastic or condescending.

I'm going to try to be educational as we can be today.

And I love all of y'all to death, but some of y'all make my head hurt.

I mean, I'm just going to lay it out there, just to be brutally honest here about that.

Guys, every year, every year, not this year, not last year, every year.

And for those of you that maybe you're kind of casual followers of college baseball,

maybe you only watch it during the season.

You know, Raphael Palmero and Will Clark came out after their junior years.

Granted, they were first rounders, but the juniors get drafted at major programs every year.

We are a major college baseball program.

We recruit among the elite in this country every year.

We are not going to have four-year baseball players at Mississippi State very often.

A college baseball senior, with rare exception, is not a good thing.

It's just not.

And he said, but Steve, why do they go out after their junior year?

Well, it's because they have leverage.

They can get a bigger signing bonus.

And I've read people to say, well, I don't understand.
