is legendary baseball broadcaster Jim Ellis will retire pretty much immediately.

Got the news yesterday that that was going to happen and and university was going to do a big

presentation today and I think they've done a wonderful job it won't be the same

and I want to share a few things with you I wrote a column last night I laid

in bed for a while just kind of contemplated what it all meant and I just wanted

to share a little bit about my interactions with Jim

over the years. I consider Jim Ellis a friend. I've been on his show many times and I've had the

opportunity to interview him about big moments in Mississippi State baseball and other sporting events.

And I remember him telling me prior to the 2014 Egg Bowl, like as great as that year had been, with us going the number one, that the year would be incomplete if we didn't have a win over or all missed to cap the season. And, of course, it didn't go the way we wanted to. But, you know, Jim is a guy that has loved to Mississippi State his entire life. And it interesting you know you get a chance you know

you know I get a chance to visit with Jim a lot every I always made that pilgrimage every single
