In 2011, Tunisia captured the imagination of the Middle East and the world,

sparking revolutions across the region after the country forged their own.

And today, this North African country tied to decades of centralized French 17th century legislative history

is now working its way through a new democracy. Many Tunisians who had left

their country have returned and alongside Tunisians who stayed home are building their Tunisia.

We heard from many that entrepreneurship is an embodiment of things they fought for during their

And today, six years on, the Tunisian startup scene symbolizes a thriving movement.

But starting a business in Tunisia comes with its own host of troubles.

I mean, honestly, sometimes the obstacles seem so large that, you know, I wonder why

entrepreneurs would even go through this and why don't they just even take a normal job? As Tunisian,

we cannot, for example, buy things on, we don't have international credit cards, which you don't

call it international. You call it just credit card. We call it international because our credit cards

are filled with Tunisian dinars.

So a Tunisian dinars is not recognized on eBay, on Amazon, on Google, on whatever, no?
