Welcome back to starting episode 294. Major League baseball might be in a work stoppage, but we're not.

Nene podcast goes on. Got a lot to talk about since last week. A lot of free agents.

There's a move or two. There's a move or two. This legitimately felt like NBA free agency.

This is what it should be like the mid the clock hits midnight and all the deals that you just knew were in place anyway just basically start getting announced.

Wow. This is great.

Well, that's why I feel like if there's one good thing that could could come out of this it's that they see the fan reaction to free agents getting scooped up left and right kind of semi early.

Before Christmas at least because I remember we talked about this before about how Boris used to wait for his free his big marquee name free agents.

They would wait to sign until Christmas and that was late.

Now the big name free agents they won't sign until fucking Valentine's Day.

Yeah, well, they don't want to do that anymore and I don't want to say anymore. I don't know that that was ever desired. That's not it.

I mean, you want to know where your home is. You want to be able to kind of mentally prepare for what you're about to do.

You don't want to go through all of that at a point in time when you should be reporting because that's typically when you report pictures and catchers around Valentine's Day on Valentine's Day.

To that point, it's great to just watch the energy surround that like transactional phase of baseball or that you know fans getting excited about the movement or the acquisition instead of just performance on the field.

That's something baseball fans have in spurts, you know, this one player signs and it's because that player is setting the market for this other player or for these other four players.

So that's going to take a while because the next domino that falls is going to impact the other two behind it.

So it's like to have it all happen at once. It's pretty cool.

I mean, it's open.

Cory Seagr is going to thank or excuse me, Carlos, Kareya has to thank Cory Seagr for setting that market because who but prior to that, Kareya, I know was talking about Francisco lendoor's extension with the Mets as being the benchmark for a free agent contract that he was in search of this off season.

And then you know, you had some folks saying, well, maybe you know, the the Mets extension probably isn't the best benchmark because you know, maybe that's a mistake.

Just because the Mets made a mistake doesn't mean that we have to make an even greater mistake by giving you even more money.
