Hi, I'm Summer Shore, and I am excited to share my story with you today. So I am half Latina and half

white and growing up in a bicultural family was both awesome and challenging in different ways as I'm

sure you can imagine. My dad's side of the family is from Latin and Central America and my mom's side

of the family is from Pahoki, Florida,

down in the Everglades.

And so we were literally a melting pot in our family, which I love.

But what I found is that depending on which side of the family I was visiting,
