What's up, Laker fans? Welcome to an abbreviated edition of the Laker Film Room podcast.

I'm Pete, joined by Darius, recording for the first time from UHTC at the Lakers practice facility.

Have a little conference room for about 30 minutes, and that's about how long this

pod will be. Yesterday, Darius brought up the idea of how watching these playoffs has made him

yearn a bit for a guy who can get downhill, a guard who can get downhill, and also hit a pull-up

jumper, to which my retort is, those guys make a lot of money, and it's basically a pull toward a three-star build.

And so today in this short little conversation,

I want to have a conversation with you,

kind of go down that road of the pros and cons of this type of players.

So why don't you reset up where you're at on this topic?

I don't think this is a particularly new idea.

I think every championship team needs a lead ball handler who can really be a perimeter gravity force who can also threaten the paint. I don't think this is a new concept at all. And I think the Lakers have been getting by on this

idea and even won a championship with this idea as LeBron James filled that role. I think over the
