Stay connected to nature.

We're part of something bigger that we know so very little about.

I mean, I've studied the science.

I've worked on these issues nationally and internationally for 30 years.

And every day, I learned something about nature that I didn't know before.

And sometimes when I'm feeling despair or burnt out, I just need to go and take that walk in the woods and stand beside some really big tree and imagine those roots going down and connecting to a system thousands of miles away.

Communicating. I mean, now scientists like Suzanne Smartard or the book by Merlin Sheldrick

and Tangled Web, we can now see that trees are communicating with each other underground.

So I imagine myself as part of that system and being held up and supported by this huge,

unknowable, amazing system that we get to be a part of ours.
