Summary

EPISODE 8: The Stages of Grief: Denial Dying Laughing with Jessimae Peluso We’re kicking off the first stage of grief...Denial. You know… that magical headspace where you tell yourself everything’s fine, even when your 15-year-old dog is basically applying for Social Security. In this episode of Dying Laughing, I share how denial has shown up in my life (spoiler: a lot), why dogs are little time capsules, and I read submissions about the funniest, most relatable, and most painfully human ways people and their families have lived in denial. From pretending a breakup was “just a break” to ignoring that Grandma’s wig was on backwards at the funeral this one’s honest, hilarious, and maybe a little too real. 💬 Email us your own moments of denial—I might read them in a future episode. 📌 Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss the next stage of grief. But your mind's basically wrapping you an emotional

bubble wrap so you can get through the day. Denial, it gets a bad rap, but honestly, I think it can be

kind of cozy. You can even convince yourself of anything. They're not gone. They're just on a trip in

Italy. We're not broken up. We're just on a break. My 15-year-old dog isn't 15. He's still a puppy.

and why it sometimes makes us do the weirdest things. And we'll talk about why our brains use it

to protect us and how long it can stick around. And the moment it starts to crack and reality comes rushing in, it's messy, it's human,

Or maybe not.

I don't want to.
