how did you get into the world of gardening?

Did you start out as a gardener as a young kid or is it something

you came to later in life?

So I was a kid of the 70s.

I would call myself like a free-range chick because basically I was one of those kids who my mom

pushed me out the door in the morning and said go play outside and she had a giant garden in the backyard, a vegetable and

herb garden and we had some fruit as well and I always thought that I had kind of

like a hippie lifestyle when I was a kid, but it turns out my mom and dad,

we were just really poor.

And on a really tight budget, we're talking like $25 for a month back in the 70s. And so we grew a lot of our own food and so I grew up with my mom
