Like you guys probably know by now she's helped tens of thousands of people on

six different

continents learn how to grow their own vegetables and herbs and just be able to

source some of their own food maybe even all of their own food in some cases I

certainly know that some people that have

messaged me or emailed me have said I went from nothing to now my family eats

70% vegan, you know most days of the week and it's all from my own garden.

So really interesting to see how people end up using the stuff that we put out,

Stacy, but what I'm actually more curious about in today's show is

how did you get into the world of gardening?

Did you start out as a gardener as a young kid or is it something

you came to later in life?

You're spot on.

So I was a kid of the 70s.

I would call myself like a free-range chick because basically I was one of those kids who my mom

pushed me out the door in the morning and said go play outside and she had a giant garden in the backyard, a vegetable and

herb garden and we had some fruit as well and I always thought that I had kind of

like a hippie lifestyle when I was a kid, but it turns out my mom and dad,

we were just really poor.

And on a really tight budget, we're talking like $25 for a month back in the 70s. And so we grew a lot of our own food and so I grew up with my mom
