Joining me today is my friend and colleague, Dr. Scott Heffelfinger, who is a professor at the Augusta Institute Graduate School of Theology.

Happy to be here.

We're here today talking about the Feast of St. Torres, the little flower, as you sometimes know, St. Thereseau. Sometimes you'll hear us call her Teresa, which is the great, who she's,

the great saint she's named after. She actually dies in September 30th in 1897,

but that feast day was already taken by St. Jerome.

And so she was bumped to the next day,

which is a beautiful way to kick off the month of October with St. Terese.

She's a great saint.

She's a young saint.

She's a doctor of the church,

which means that she reflects in her teaching, the wisdom of God in some way.

Pice, the 11th, said that she was the greatest saint of modern times.

So I'm really excited to be with you today and be with my friend, Dr. Heffelfinger, to talk about this great saint.

Scott, what's your relationship to Terese? When did you

first meet her as a friend? Yeah, I think it wasn't until my 20s, really, when I was out in

Europe studying at a small school called the International Theological Institute. And when I got there,

I was informed in a great way that there were two patron saints

for this Institute. And one of them was the great common doctor of the church, St. Thomas Aquinas.
