Summary

0:33.7	Yeah, he has a name that's a mouthful.
0:35.7	So his full name is Ennichius, Manlius, Severinus, Boethius.
0:41.4	Yes, is why I had you say that.
0:43.0	Yeah, and so everyone calls him just Boethius, for obvious reasons, I think.
0:49.4	Boethias, St. Peretius.
0:51.0	Yeah.
0:51.9	But you mentioned he sometimes can be confused with other saints. Yeah, yeah. Oftentimes, when he's
0:57.8	listed in, you know, saints, you know, lists, he's listed as St. Severinas. But sometimes as Severinus.
1:08.6	Okay. Very good. Well, thank you. We're going to dive into the life
1:11.8	of this great saint. It's a gift to have so many saints in heaven that we can look to you for
1:17.6	inspiration on our own journey here in our own pilgrimage. So let's begin with where is St. Boetheus
1:24.4	from? Yes. Yes. A biographical sketch. Certainly. Yeah, well, Buethius,
1:29.5	Buethius was born in AD 4A.D. in Rome to a noble family there in Rome. And there's a delightful
1:40.5	message that Pope Benedict gave on Buethius and Cassiodorus, who were roughly contemporary.
1:49.3	And he notes there that he lived in some of the most turbulent times in the Christian West and in the Italian Peninsula in particular.
