It's called to mind all those we've promised to pray for, especially for the recovery and healing

of Olivia Caneli and for the passing of the value of them both amendment here in Kansas.

Now today, September 23rd, we celebrate the feast of St. Padre Peele.

Padre Peele was inspired by this passage from St. Paul, who wrote,

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake.

And in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body,

that is the church.

And this caused Padre Pio to have a burning desire to share in the suffering of Jesus,

and by so doing, console his sacred heart and help

him save souls. In 1918, Jesus granted his wish, giving Padre Pio the gift of the

stigmata, the five wounds of Jesus in his body, in his feet, his hands, and his side.

And this lasted for almost 50 years, miraculously healing right before Pio's death in 1968.
