This is Cardinal Francis George. I invite you to join me for the next few minutes to

reflect with Father Robert Barron on the Word of God, which is the Word on Fire. Word on

Fire Catholic Ministries is a non-profit ministry at the forefront of Catholic evangelization

using new media to spread the faith and every continent. Father Barron challenges us to

open our hearts to the Word on Fire, which is God's Word of Love for each of us. If our

hearts are open, the Lord can change and transform us so that we might speak with love about

the one who is love. The global benefactors of Word on Fire with the support of the Archdiocese

of Chicago now present Word on Fire. Peace be with you. Friends, we have the great privilege

this year of celebrating the feast of the dedication of St. John Latterin on Sunday, which gives

us a chance as a whole church to think about this great place and this great feast. John

Latterin, as you know, is the Pope's Cathedral Church. St. Peter's is not the Pope's Cathedral

Church. It's a great Basilica and the Pope lives nearby. But it's Cathedral Church, the

cathodra, the chair from which he teaches. That's found at the Church of St. John Latterin,

which goes all the way back to the time of Constantine. It's a very ancient Roman Basilica

and a really great place to visit. When we were filming for the Catholicism series, we had

the privilege to film a number of times inside John Latterin and these magnificent statues

of the 12 Apostles form as it were the pillars of the church building. It's beautiful symbolism,

of course, the Apostles are the spiritual pillars of the church. And you can see the cathodra,

you see the chair, the official C, if you want, the C of the Pope, that St. John Latterin.

It's also known as the Mother and Head of all the churches. And that's why it's important for

the whole Catholic Church to celebrate the feast of its dedication. And so it gives us an

opportunity, I think, to reflect a little bit on church buildings. Now, I know my generation
