This is our rosary of the Movement of the Holy Family.

Let us begin by calling to mind wherever in the presence of Almighty God

in whom we live and move and have our being.

We call upon Him in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy

Spirit. Amen. We're going to pray for all the prayer petitions that have been

submitted. I'm going to pray in a special way for my mother whose

birthday is on May 2nd and but I guess when you're her age you get to carry that

birthday on a little further.

Today is May 3rd, so this is the feast of Saints James and Philip.

So the name of our Rosary today is St Saints James and Philip guarding our tongues. May 3rd is the Feast of the Apostles Saints Philip and James the Lesser.

This is the St James who is a cousin of Jesus, not the St James who's the brother of St John.

St. James the Lesser, meaning the younger, was the first Bishop of Jerusalem and was martyred there in 66 AD.

This St James gives us the letter of James in the New Testament and in in this letter, he warns us of sins

that are terrible and dangerous, but that are easily committed.

These are the sins of the tongue, meaning sins that come from our speech and thoughts.

He says, think of how small a flame can set fire to a huge forest. The tongue is a flame like that. Among all the

parts of a body, the tongue is a whole wicked world in itself.

It infects the whole body

catching fire itself from hell.

It sets fire to the whole wheel of creation.
