It's Granny Maduff, ready with a story.

So make yourselves comfy, and I'll begin. Thank you. Once upon a time, in what was the third century,

a great soldier was born in a town called Cappadocia.

So loved was this champion of the people that he is called St George by all.

As a boy, George's mother instructed him in all things.

Above all, she trained him to be a great knight. When he was of age, George became a soldier and rose quite quickly in the military ranks.

The emperor, Diocletian, was pleased with George and he became the Emperor's favourite.

But soon George became disillusioned with Diocletian and decided to leave the city and travel as a knight throughout the land.

He gave all his worldly possessions to those around him, keeping only his armour, his sword,

and his horse, who was called Balthazar, a noble steed indeed.

They travelled far and wide together, helping the less fortunate and bringing as much joy as they could to those they met.

After many months, they found themselves in the plains of Libya.

They stopped for the night at an inn, which seemed almost surrounded by nothing.

George and Balthazar found food and shelter there.

Quite far from all else.

I don't suppose you get many visitors, George asked the innkeeper.
