Lindisfarne, and he lived from 634 to 687. So he's a kind of

that is a location? Lindisfarne is a location. They called it the Holy Island.

1:13.1

It is a tidal island off the coast of Northumbria.

And established Linda Svarn. Okay. So maybe we can talk about St. Aden another time. We could do another one. Stay tuned. But St. Cuthbert is the third bishop of Lindisfarne, which you might think bishop, I thought it was a monastery. Yeah. So it's also a diocese. Is it just of the monastery? Diocese of the monastery. No, there are lots of villages around of people living up there. I mean, I'm sure it's not super heavily populated than us today. It's a small diocese boundary. But it was, you know, there is precedent, which the venerable mentions in the life of comfort for someone to be both abbot and bishop. Okay. So they're both, which is a big responsibility, you're both abbot of the community and also bishop of the surrounding diocese and area. Okay. He goes to this

monastery. What is he doing? So, yeah, so Cuthbert, he's not, there's not a whole lot of information

2:31.0

about his early life, you know, his conversion. I think like one little story about his youth.

2:35.6

But essentially we kind of meet him as he rides up to Lindisfarne to enter the monastery and

2:41.6

sort of dedicate his life to Christ.

2:44.7

And Cuthbert, you know, as you said, he's kind of maybe obscure, seems obscure to you.

2:49.5

But he is the patron of Northumbria who was a
