The name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen. So I want to start with a little bit

of a personal story. The whole talk is not going to be a personal story, but it has a point that that goes very much with the theme I'd like to unpack with you of St. Catherine, Oceana, on secularism and the interior life. 1:58.9

It's that at least on the Atlantic coast where I was swimming, the undertow was incredibly strong.

2:04.7

And the current was mostly pulling me under and out to the ocean.

2:11.0

And there was no one on the beach. Okay. No lifeguards, no people. Now, I dove into this water thinking I could take on this challenge. And I realized really quickly that I was probably
