There is something very maternal about her teachings in that she didn't just stand on a corner and preach.

She lived it.

She reminds me in some ways, Matthew, of Mother Teresa, in that she exemplified

the love of Christ and how to live out that Christian message by actually entering into

suffering, not only her own physical suffering, but in the suffering of others.

Yes, yes. Pope Benedict, in his discussions about Catherine, talks about the fact that her spirituality was linked very powerfully to the gift of tears, as he puts it.

He said it in the way that he said that they express an exquisite, profound sensitivity,

a capacity for being moved and for tenderness.
