In that same paragraph, it says, it is possible to make education too easy for children and rob learning of the mental discipline, which often wearies, but in the end produces concentration and the capacity to work alone.

That is one of the things is you can do these unit studies, but you are robbing your children or your students of the possibility of learning something.
