I've been watching the numbers for those of you that are new. Welcome. There's always new people coming on board. This is

A wrestling podcast by a wrestling fan for wrestling fans

I'm the last professional broadcaster Sam Roberts and I still like wrestling. I like WWE. I like what's on television

I enjoy watching it and this is where we come to celebrate it. We got a lot. This is the pre-royal rumble show

So there's lots of royal rumble to talk about and I've been watching old rumbles too

I know I'm not the only but the only person that gets excited. Like that's just how it plays out.

Especially as many rumbles as there has been. I've been going through the playlist on the WWE network and going through my own personal favorites

It's just such a great match to assess where WWE was at the time. You know like the 94 royal rumble

So it gives you this great picture of what 1993 WWF looked like and what they thought it was going to look like.

You know the 1997 royal rumble you watch that and you think oh this is the beginning of this big partnership

The WWE is going to have a AAA and then it never happens. You know you could look at the 92 royal rumble and you can see this shift

Leaving the era of whole Romania. I feel like that's really the first event where you see

The whole Romania is starting to maybe not be. It's still there but they're going to slowly start shifting away from it

And you can see that there are times when things feel lost. There are times when things are so on point

And there are times when things just miss the mark. I just it's just such a great display. It's it's and to think that all that could come from a battle royal

Which generally in the world of sports entertainment anyway the battle royal is kind of a throwaway match

You know it's kind of a match just to throw everybody in if you're a wrestling school student the battle royal might be your first match
