Today we will talk about the EU being squeezed between the United States and China.

The national security strategy, published last week by the White House, didn't go down well in Europe,

even though it shouldn't have come as a surprise. It's just a retake of some of the lines we've heard before.

China is becoming really difficult.

It's using its show calls in a much more aggressive way.

The EU has split in its response to China with France threatening tariffs and Germany saying no to tariffs.

So we're already splitting before we even start talking.

We have problems with both superpowers at the same time, which is a reality of the new

geopolitics.

So we're going to talk about the United States first, and then about China in the second

part of our podcast.

On the national security strategy that was published last week at the end of last week,

I would personally not take it too seriously.

People were shocked because I think the measure of your shock is a sort of a measure of your complacency.

Because this has been known.

We've actually known since 2017 what Trump wants.

He has been very clear about this.

It's now encoded.

He's getting more professional at it.

There's nothing in it that J.D. Vance didn't say or the talk about free speech I don't think
