Chapter 1 A vision of hope, Harriet rescues me, I'm running as fast as I can on some sort

of road, and the wind is blowing hard, it's freezing cold and completely dark.

I'm shaking, confused, and scared.

I have an overwhelming sense that I'm being chased, but I can't see it being, blinded

by the darkness as surrounds me.

I stretch my arms out in front of me, and feel myself holding on to some kind of rope.

This coarseness is burning my fingers and palms, I'm hanging on for dear life.

Over and over I will myself not to let go, and I keep on running.

I can smell the ground beneath my feet, and I feel a throbbing in my ears.

It's my adrenaline pumping.

I sense intense anger in the field, and then I start to hear a mob nearby, slowly rising

out of the ground, I see shadowy images of slave catchers encircled by plumes of

murky gray smoke.
