Okay, part three of spring training.

So we've talked about what spring training is like for the front office.

We talked a little bit about what spring training is like for the manager.

Now I wanna talk about what spring training is like for players.

This is gonna be interesting to you because it's gonna shock you the way players treat

spring training.

So spring training for many players is their opportunity to be gone from home after

having an entire off season at home.

It's their opportunity to get ready for the season at the pace they wanna get ready.

It's an opportunity to get out of the workout, to get out of work as quickly as possible.

Go golfing, hang out, do whatever they want in Florida or in Arizona.

And it starts with the first day of reporting.

So the way it works is players have to find a place to live.

That's their first job.

And you'd think that we give players a place to live.

But actually, under the collective bargaining agreement, the only thing we have to provide

players is a single room at a crappy hotel in your spring training.

And we pay for it.
