I have talked to this guy over G-chat for way too many years, it seems like. But he's one of the best in the business.

He's currently at CBS Sports, and he does a fantastic job over there.

RJ, thank you so much for hopping on.

Yeah, we can talk afterwards about what we can do there.

Today's show is going to be mostly focused on spring training breakouts, but I wanted to go over a couple of things real quick with RJ.

We got some breaking news last night that is just a massive bummer, especially for it kind of adds ammunition to the people who hate this tournament.

I love this tournament to death and nothing is going to change that.

But there's no doubt that the talking point of this tournament now is not going to be who

won it.

It's going to be that Edwin Diaz is very likely to miss the rest of the season because of a torn

Patella in his, I believe it's right knee.

This stinks, RJ.

And it's such a bummer.

This could have happened anywhere, but of course it happened in the world baseball classic.

I guess what I'll ask you, RJ is, as a fantasy baseball show, you know, your first

thoughts, of course, are poor Edwin Diaz, but your second thoughts, unfortunately,

sometimes go to who the heck is going to save games for the New York Mets now? I think we both kind of agree, maybe, without having talked to you about it, that this might be a situation where they're making trades. But if they're not doing that, if they're going with internal options, who do you think makes sense here? Yeah, I think of a time being, and at least early in the season, you're probably going to see a committee approach. You know, they did sign David Robertson over the offseason. They retained Adam Ottvino. They traded for Brooks Rayleigh. I know Rayleigh is dealing with his own injury issues. So we'll see what his status is for opening day. But I think because of the time of the year, you know, it's really difficult to make trades for, you know, established late inning relievers. You know, they might be able to go out there and get a mineral relief type off waivers or trade for someone who has an opt-out in their contract and who isn't going to make another

team's 26 player roster. But realistically, I think that they have to pocket those aspirations
