Man, I tell you what, what, like three days later, I'm still just floating on air from that gold medal hockey game by the United States.

That was awesome. I know you're Mr. Hockey, so you got to be loving it even more than I do, if that's possible. Let me tell you, Dave, I watched that game in Quebec City in a bar full of Canadians. So I think I might have enjoyed it just a little bit more. Oh, wow. God bless our Canadian friends, but the United States of America, everyone is victorious. And I'm going to say right now, that is as good as the hockey game gets in terms of the pace, terms of the speed, in terms of the talent that was on the ice. If you want to know how good that game was, Zach Werencky might be the best D in the NHL this year for the Blue Jackets, and he only played 12 minutes. He averages like 26 a game for the Blue Jackets. So phenomenal hockey game. Thrilled to see the Americans, both men and women, winning the gold medal. But the men's game, I think, garnered a little more attention because we sort of expect the women to do it. They had beaten Canada pretty badly a number of times in the last year,

and those are the two teams that always win the gold is either U.S. or Canada on the women's side.

On the men's side, that's the first gold medal of my lifetime for the United States of America.

You have to go back to the miracle on ice team. And I think it was an awesome moment.

If Sports Illustrated was still what it was when I was a kid, the picture of Jack Hughes with a flag over his shoulder and his teeth missing and his fist up in the air would be the cover picture without a question.

So, you know, it's awesome to feel great as an American to see our team succeed like that.

american hockey taking the step it has and as the father two american hockey players uh this

won't be the last time we see this that's for for sure. I've seen the youth leagues, trust me.

Oh, I've been reading what Rick Nash has been saying about that, but like how much it's grown. He's got a unique perspective, too. He's a Canadian, but his wife's an American, his kids are American. He was rooting for Z. He had a little bit of split allegiances there. You have a story forever. watching that for in Quebec City with a bunch of Canadians.

Oh, that's good.

I was live on the air in Columbus. I think you have me beat. I was doing my show on 97.1, the fan on Sunday when it happened. All right. So I was a guest on the awesome Bill and Doug show. They just do it. Those guys do a great job. I'm going to steal one of Doug's questions. I'll pose it to you.
