STEP 10: BUDGET EVERYTHING

Put your furniture list into a spreadsheet with a total budget amount at the bottom – pick a figure you’re comfortable with that seems reasonable with the amount of things you have to buy. Then, start alloting amounts to each item, keeping in mind what you think each item costs. Change the allotments as needed without changing your bottom line. The bottom line needs to be at your budget or below. Remember to budget at least 20% for unplanned issues, taxes, and delivery.

Your deliverable: A detailed budget spreadsheet

Let's spring ahead.

Hi, this is Anita Joyce here with Kelly Wilkins, and this is decorating tips and tricks.

0:14.8

Today's episode is spring decor under $50.

0:18.8

Well, I had so much fun researching this and I found some things that I really

0:24.1

like, which surprises me because I'm not really into the seasonal stuff, but I really like the

0:29.1

things I found. I think they'll brighten up your kitchen or your house for spring and they're

0:35.1

kind of, some of them are more on the fun side. But I think sometimes

0:38.5

we take ourselves too seriously. So I love adding some fun elements for seasonal decor.

0:45.1

I never take myself too seriously. But that's a whole other episode. I agree. There's some really

0:53.6

lovely things out there for spring, and we

0:56.8

aren't really heavily vested in the seasonal decor for various reasons, all of which I think are

1:04.8

very valid. That's the under 50 on this. That's the under 50. Excellent point. It is nice to just add a little something,

1:12.8

change something up. My things are more of a nod to the season, maybe the nod to the traditional

1:19.3

colors of the season, which are usually not my colors. Well, certainly greens and yellows,

1:24.3

but I don't really do pastels. You do pastels beautifully, Anita, so there might

1:28.9

be some things on my list you really might be interested in. So they are really nice touches to

1:35.8

add for not very much money. And some things that I have are really, really under 50. So why don't

1:41.9

we kick it off with you, Nita Jean? Let us know what your first one is.

1:46.5

Well, I found some moss bunnies on Etsy that I really loved. And I went back to check these

1:53.1

size. I just put them on a few hours ago. And they were already sold out. So I picked another one.

1:59.3

But anyway, the moss bunnies popped away. Well, It's a moss. So I found a moss bunny.

2:04.2

It's about five inches tall, 15 bucks. Super cute. But here's the thing. If it's sold out when you
