Summary

In 2 Corinthians 2:14–17, Paul compares our life in Christ to a Roman victory parade honoring a general after a successful military campaign. Such a parade in the first century A.D. would have included priests carrying censors with burning spices to fill the streets with a wonderful fragrance. In this analogy, Paul says Jesus is our general who leads us in triumphal procession, and we are like the ones spreading the fragrance of Him everywhere we go. It’s a reminder that not only is Jesus our Conquering King, but we are to spread the knowledge of Him everywhere we go! Are you spreading the fragrance of Christ?  Join us as Pastor Gary shares from 2 Corinthians.

And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God.

But as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak

spreading the fragrance. Let's have a word of prayer. Father in heaven, it is good to be in your

house. We thank you, Lord, for those who are here and those who are watching online. And together we just lift up our voices and praise through song. And now we want to worship you as we study your word together, that you would speak to our hearts and that we would not be hearers only but doers. And I pray that this passage would be meaningful to many of us as we consider,

1:29.3

what is Paul saying to us here? What are you saying to us through Paul? That we might be

encouraged and strengthened in our own walk with you. And we love you today, Lord. And we just give you

the praise and the glory and the honor. It's in Jesus' name we pray. And everybody said,
