And today we are here to talk about training camp.

Notre Dame has is in the middle of two weeks of preparation for Texas A&M that will really be heightened next week, regular game week.

And this training camp discussion does not include recruiting, does not include the USC

game in November or the playoffs, John, but it does include, although at the end of it,

We're going to wake everybody wait for that because I think we've talked a little bit about

Really our format today is I want to talk about every position group with you.

And we're going to start on the defense, which is Notre Dame's strongest side of the football.

We knew that exiting that it was last year, it was exiting the season, entering spring,

entering summer, and remains that way.

The defensive line, John, I put in my Monday musings as the number one group and I'm assuming

health of Howard Cross. At this point for game day, we have no reason to assume anything but the

health of Howard Cross. But Gabriel Rubio is out. So let's discuss the line a little bit up front.

Who is your biggest camp riser from? I know we discussed Armel Mukum a lot, but you don't have to go from out of nowhere

to in the mix. It can be Mukum, or it could be just a guy that made a move or you think he's

going to have a little bit more of an impact than you would have at the beginning of August.

You know, if it was just the biggest riser, it would be Armal Mukum, just because I feel like we can all sense that the coaches have developed trust in him to be a rotational player, not to be a starter, but if you get 12 to 15 snaps a game out of that guy, that's a huge step forward for the depth of the Notre Dame line.

But honestly, I would say it's RJ Oban.
