All right, boys and girls, we are back with another edition, a special one of the Big Ben show for July 4th week.

0:17.2

I have two great conversations on this episode, one with Sage Steel and another with David

0:22.0

Mamet. Both are very interesting and fascinating individuals, and it was a great time to

0:27.1

interview them. But I'd interviewed them last week, and so that means that there were some

0:31.3

developments of the news that I wanted to talk about that happened in the interviewing period.

0:36.6

When it came to Sage Steel, obviously one of the things that she is most open about in terms

0:41.3

of advocating for something that she truly believes in is for the case against men in girls' sports.

1:34.0

beginning. Of course, the other great big development was the big beautiful bills passage through

1:38.8

the U.S. Senate. Now it heads to the House where votes are expected in the next two days, where you are fighting to try to get out in time for the July 4th holiday.

1:50.0

One of the things that happened within the Senate debate was that, unfortunately, for John Thune, he was unable to really convince some of the key votes who were wavering on this to come along.

2:02.7

Rand Paul, Tom Tillis, and Susan Collins all voted against the bill.

2:06.8

Because of that, he needed to convince Lisa Murkowski.

2:09.1

And as she has done so many times before, she extracted a pretty hefty price for what she
