Summary

There are over 200 known cases where people have been found burned to death with no discernible cause. These cases have contributed to the theory of spontaneous human combustion, the idea that a person can catch fire and burn alive with no external ignition source. And, while it's regarded as a pseudoscience by the field at large, large enforcement and coroners around the world still use spontaneous human combustion as an official cause of death. We try to separate fact from fiction in this burning mystery, examining theories like the "wick effect." Go to http://bombas.com/30mm and use code 3mm for 20% off your first purchase. At 76, Michael Faradie died at his home in Galway, Ireland, on December 22nd, 2010. He had burned to death there,

but what was the most strange and puzzling to investigators was that there was no discernible cause for the fire. There was no evidence of gasoline, kerosene, nor foul play, nor did the

fire and firete's fireplace spread.

And so, West Galway coroner, Kieran McLaughlin, decided that the only possible explanation

for Faradie's death was that the old man had spontaneously combusted.

adequate explanation. Wow, yep. Yeah, he was in a pickle there. He kind of just went with what he had.

1:56.8

Yeah, he did, spontaneous human combustion. Which is the theory that a human body can suddenly combust and ignite and flame due to internal chemical activity.
