It's not going too well for the BBC, I'm afraid. Richard Sharp has just resigned. He is the chairman of the BBC, or rather was the chairman of the BBC.

He says he should have mentioned potential perceived conflicts of interest. He says, I would like once again to apologise for that oversight, inadvertent though it was,

This is basically the result of an independent inquiry that's been going on for quite some time

into the fact that Richard Sharp basically organised a loan for Boris Johnson while he was Prime Minister and didn't declare

it to the BBC bonds that are supposed to know about these things.

And he says there was no evidence found to suggest that he played any part whatsoever in

the facilitation arrangement or financing of a loan for the former Prime Minister.
