I'm a collector of vintage clothing.

I have a fondness for items that date from the 1930s to the 1940s.

Something about the style and the history of pieces from those eras just fascinates me, especially military wear.

I was at my favorite antique store to buy vintage clothing from,

I found a U.S. Navy blue wool sailor's top from W.W. 2. I was super excited about this find. All I could think of was what stories this particular piece of clothing could tell me if it could talk.

I draped it over my arm with a few other pieces of clothing that I had picked up.

I walked my elated self over to the fitting rooms to see what pieces I had picked up actually fit.

I try it on several of the items that I picked up with nothing of note occurring.

Then I get to this sailor's top. I put it on all excited. It fit great.

While I'm checking it out in the mirror, an extremely heavy feeling came over me.

It started at my head and just sank over the rest of me, pushing on me.

Then it sort of felt like I was a stranger in my own mind. It felt like someone else was in my body.

I had to sit down. It was that heavy and overwhelming.

I took the shirt off.

The feeling lightened a little, but it didn't go fully away until the next day. In the end I still ended up buying

the shirt. I wear it from time to time but every once in a while while I'm wearing it I

get that heavy feeling. Not as bad though as when I first put on the shirt.
