150 years before America was founded, European Christians sailed in search of religious freedom.

Landing at Plymouth Rock, they suffered death, disease, starvation, and terrible accidents.

Fewer than one half their original numbers survived that first winter.

Today we celebrate Thanksgiving in the shadow of war and recent natural disasters.

that has changed the world for good. Be strong in faith, giving glory to God,

knowing that your brothers and sisters before you have done the same thing.
