Summary

This week Katherine Ryan joins Moshe and Natasha to talk about writing bad behaving women, bringing her FOUR children on tour, and whether it’s actually even possible for women to “have it all”.

Then they help one listener decide if she should go to her dad's second wedding to support her new "cousin brother", and help another listener handle living next to a wild family.

I'm mildly famous on one small island. It's a significant island. England's like the most important island. I watched your show, The Duchess. You are so freaking funny. And I quote it all the time because I love that quote. I think your character said it. She said, but you're not 50. But she said your 50s are like your 20s with money. Yeah. I don't know what I said because I wrote it all. So then you don't remember what you said. And there were a lot of people who didn't like my character on the Duchess. What? I think, well, she was, you know what I based her on is Eastbound and Down? Kenny Powers. Oh my God. That's my favorite TV show of all time. Me too. Mine's the Duchess.

That was... I based her on is eastbound and down Kenny Powers. Oh my God. That's my favorite TV show of all time. Me too. Mine's the Duchess. And I was like, there should be a woman. He's like a bad person, but not that bad. She suffers from hyper independence as a trauma response. And then everybody liked the deadbeat dad. And they're like, he's so funny. He's the best. I was like, I also wrote him. I'm also him. My mind as well. But I think sometimes when you write a character that's a little bit, it wasn't my life story, but it was a little bit like me, people just can't separate. They're like, you're bad then. She's bad, you're bad. Almost like Hollywood is inherently misogynistic a little bit yeah yeah I disagree I hear me out I sort of feel like it's been difficult for us men these days

but I also think we're entering into a phase of media where characters doing bad things or having
