Sound doctrine is critical to a Christian's faith in life. How we love, how we live, how we act, how we worship is all downstream from what we believe. And if it's not rooted in the sound teachings of Scripture, it's easy to go astray in the practical outworkings of living. Today, I'm sharing three ways sound doctrine protects us.

And hopefully I sound great because, I don't know, my two-year-old walked off with my microphone.

So I'm using air, not air, what are they called? Headphones that you speak into. And I am missing, I don't know,

it was a whole thing and I just laughed about it. Like how devices have so many different types

of plugins and we're just working with what we got today. But I just really wanted to encourage

you and share some wisdom about sound doctrine because right now it's

just something in our faces and I mean not just our faces. This has been happening since the first

century church because we definitely see Paul and John address this about people trying to take others down

with the ship, proclaiming another gospel, trying to hold people to a different standard. It has been

done and it is being doing. It is happening right now. And so there have been false teachers of

Christianity since the first century church, and because people are

going to people, it's still happening today. But here's a zinger. False teachings don't just come from,

like, you know, some mega church televangelist, prosperity gospel preacher. They can come and do come

from even people close to us. And maybe they're being well-meaning as well. Maybe they're a little

mixed up. But what I'm seeing is a lot of, a lot of, well, not just now, but even since COVID,

persuasive calling on Christians to submit to teachings from the Bible in order to go along

with a worldview and culture, but is actually opposite of

the scriptures. So they're taking like a speck of scripture out of context, maybe one verse,

not understanding all of it, or saying, you know, Jesus said, we should love one another,
