Hi, everyone. Welcome to this episode of the podcast. This one's going to be kind of fun. It's Thanksgiving

week. I wanted to record this last week, but man, our family, we just were hit by the

doomsday virus that apparently is sweeping the nation. Like family members had it that lived

in different parts of the country and friends. We were just dropping like flies. And of course,

as it happens with families, one person is patient zero and it takes a few days for the virus to

infect every member slowly over time, over weeks. And right in the middle of it, my poor son had his birthday and he had a fever

the night before. I felt so bad for him. But man, when you got presents to look forward to,

he just pulled it together. And he was so happy and so excited. And I am so blessed by him.

But we had to hold off on birthday celebrations in the outside world

with his friend because we just, you know, we weren't feeling great. And so we are making it.

And it doesn't help to have a newborn and take care of children who are sick and have a husband

that's sick. It was, it was rough. I will tell you, after recording a podcast

on contentment, it was put to the test. I remember talking about how Paul, I learned the

secret of being content. He had mastered contentment, but one of the commentaries I was reading,

or not commentaries, but I think it was J.C. Ryle,

he was saying that how many situations was Paul in where he failed before that?

Like, it's not that Paul just was this content person and he had to learn it.

And so I just, this is, oh, this is, it's time to learn, Lauren. Take good notes because I don't want to do that

again. But I'm really thankful. And God has been gracious to us. And we're going to keep plugging away
